“Go this direction, don’t go that one.”
I remember the arrows on the floor but completely ignored them as did many others here. I also remember Gov Inslee directing that pot shops would be considered “essential”. Yes, I recall that no returns were allowed but that didn’t last long here. Some people would go in and exchange clothing items for different sizes on the racks on their own (how do I know that?). Best not have security tags, though. I also remember that at Jack-in-the-Box (fast food restaurant) that although they were accepting cash, the employees could not take it directly out of your hand. Instead, the money had to be placed on the counter and picked up from there. And they would not hand you change or the order. There were lots of crazy practices that seem ludicrous now.
Walmart here wouldn’t take any returns at all, clothing or non clothing. Every single item you bought was yours to keep. No exchanges, no returns, non negotiable. I learned quickly that whatever I had bought was what I was stuck with for the foreseeable future. So I stopped buying.
When I got to go back into a store and was allowed to try on clothes before I purchased, well, they got me! I got to try on bathing suits after losing weight. That was a big deal for me. Maybe not for everyone, but it was for me. I worked hard to lose that weight (at home…I’m not a gym rat).
Does Inslee mean you are in Washington state? Indiana has a weak-kneed governor that might as well be a Democrat.

P.S. - Those crazy practices seemed ludicrous then, too!
