When did Congress declare war?

Excuse me, I still think the Constitution is worth following. Don’t mind me.

RE: worth following the US Constitution

There’s one in every crowd. Thank goodness.

Students don’t even learn it or its value in classes today unlike most of us who learned for one exam and then quickly forgot most of it. Tens of millions do not care about what we want to protect and know little about it.

There are no mandatory federal standards for teaching civics or social studies. Instead, each state has its own standards that reflect its priorities and history. From usnews.com Jan 11, 2022

From nea.org website:
When did high schools quit teaching civics?
Until the 1960s, it was common for American high school students to have three separate courses in civics and government. But civics offerings were slashed as the curriculum narrowed over the ensuing decades, and lost further ground to “core subjects” under the NCLB-era standardized testing regime.Mar 16, 2017

The 11 states that have no civics requirements are Alaska, Delaware, Kentucky, Maine, Massachusetts, Montana, Nebraska, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, and Vermont. Less than half (40 percent) of states require students to take a civics exam as a graduation requirement.Feb 3, 2020
