Great scene. I really like that movie. Interesting that the director cast himself as the killer of Graham’s wife. Not the kind of thing most directors would do.
The Village was a beautiful,disturbing movie, about the extent to which people are willing to go in order to maintain a fantasy.
I’m a big fan of the original Wicker Man film, which has some parallels.
Both movies have some of the finest film music ever written.
See it again, for the rapturous music, the lush cinematography, the unabashed romanticism — all giving way to a harsh reality.
Darn, I cannot see the image you posted-I get the broken graphic image. Can you see it, or anyone else see it?
I liked the whole movie-there was something somewhat scary, eerie and creepy, but not really horror-inducing, which is fine with me.
But I loved that one scene in particular. I do believe there are people who look at everything as a miracle, and they feel that someone (God) has their back, and that even if they die, it is going to be okay, and other people who believe we are all on our own. That’s is.
I feel sad that people would feel we are all on our own, and those synaptic flashes are the entirety of the meaning that existence is composed of.
That is sad and lonely to me.
And I did like how he played that part as the killer of Graham’s wife. Very interesting.
The Village didn’t do anything for me either. But “Signs” was quite interesting to me.
And I tried watching an episode of “Servant” but I absolutely did not enjoy it. I watched about 15 min and just said “Nope.
Not for me.”
No need to be sorry. What tweaks the interest of people is so variable from person to person, that if it bothered me if someone didn’t like something I did in movies, music, sports, art, or darn near anything else like that, I would be a lot worse off than I am now.
I cannot adopt that attitude with objective things, although that seems to be the absolute path of the Left to part way with them, because they view things that are largely or entirely objective as being largely or entirely subjective.
Back to the old “2+2=5, and you are going to believe it and like it, or else...”
That is indeed a memorable scene!
