And who is going to maintain them - and the M-1 tanks? These are high-strung machines and need hours of maintenance for every hour of operation.

Ukraine should be made to report on a regular basis exactly what equipment they have received from NATO countries, how much remains in use and disposition of that which isn’t - need of parts, destroyed by enemy, etc.
Just translate the plane manuals into Russian or Ukrainian. They’ll be flying aces in 2 or 3 weeks. It worked against the alien invaders in “Battlefield:Earth”.

Since Soviet pilots “secretly” fought against us in Korea and Vietnam I guess we’re going to return the favor.
Ok, so Iraq has a couple of dozen F16s. Foreign counties get stripped down versions of our planes.
For folks like the Israelis, they install their own avionics and weapons systems in the planes they buy from us. From talking to Air Force buddies, their stuff is as good, if not better than what we put in our planes.
That being said, the iraqi pilots spent over 2 years learning how to fly those things.
But I’ll bet the Ghost of Kiev will lick it up in a day or two.
