A Calgary-based family physician and urgent care doctor appeared on Canadian state media earlier this week to explain the alleged link between influenza, infection, and stroke.
When explaining the linkage, Dr. Raj Bhardwaj of the University of Calgary noted his recent surprise at discovering that there is now reportedly a "stroke season."
What are the details?
Bhardwaj told CBC Calgary News that a stroke is ultimately when "the blood supply to the brain is compromised for some reason. It's basically a plumbing problem in the pipes that supply blood to your brain. And there's two things that could go wrong with pipes, right: they can get blocked or they can burst."

“But I am also wondering if this is a late effect from getting Covid itself?”
For this to be true, we would have to also believe that all of this was just a big accident.
Because nobody, even the guy that designed it escapes from a virus. Not even the guys in Antarctica. And this is well known.
One could say, well maybe they had a real vax that only the bad guys got. But you really need the killer to be something that you control entirely.
This whole thing appears way too coordinated and controlled to just be one big accident. Making the ‘rona was certainly no accident.
Maybe vertigo?
Dunno - it’s a scary thing sometimes - wound up breaking one of my cheap USB hubs - got up last year - basically fell over to the bed but my foot hooked it and broke one of the four hubs - I got it before everything went up, too
It’s a cheap one - Innovera? Made in China, of course
Got really lucky last year - could have hit some concrete - yikes - that’s back when I was working 6-7 days a week, too
Maybe its the JABS?
What this imported clown is saying, go get the new combo flu/Covid Mrna vaxxxxx. Called the bivalent injection.
Get out walking every day. This will help balance problems. From what I have seen. Walk fast if you can.
Translation: Walking makes you more sure-footed.
And you win the internet this week. Kudos!
ABT$ Season.
(Anything but the $hots Season.)
Yeah I’m trying to do that - last job (over now) had me walking all over a huge parking garage and facility - at least to get to my desk - AND to the lunch room I liked (building was like a Faraday Cage in several places)
Good advice thanks
Unless you know whether she’d been jabbed, there is no basis for claiming that it was covid and not the jab that caused your wife’s friends problems.
Abstract: (Study was done before Covid and Covid Vaccination.)
Evidence of seasonal variation in the incidence of stroke is inconsistent. This may be a likely consequence of one or more methodological shortcomings of the studies investigating this issue, including inappropriate analytic models, insufficient length of time, small sample size, and a regional (vs. national) focus.
The authors’ objective was to ascertain whether an association exists between season of the year and the incidence of stroke by using a methodological approach designed to overcome these limitations.
The authors used a longitudinal study design involving 72,779 veterans hospitalized for stroke at any Veterans Affairs hospital nationally during the years 1986–1995. These data were analyzed by using time series methods. There was clear evidence of a seasonal occurrence for stroke in general.
This seasonal effect was found for ischemic stroke, but not for hemorrhagic stroke.
The peak occurrence was in mid-May. Neither the region (i.e., climate) nor the race of the patient substantially modified the seasonal trend. An explanation for this pattern remains to be determined.
