That’s what they did in Afghanistan. And don’t try to say that was the Soviet Union, not Russia. Russia created the USSR; without Russia there never would have been a USSR; Russia (Moscow, the Kremlin) called ALL the shots for the USSR. Thus, the Soviets’ withdrawal from Afghanistan was in effect Russia’s withdrawal from Afghanistan.
