What should you wear to work if you’re nonbinary?
It may not be the most pressing question that gender-nonconforming people face on the job, but with approximately 1.2 million LGBTQ+ Americans identifying as nonbinary, employers and employees alike are exploring what professional attire can look like.
“I think people treat me with more dignity when I dress more masculinely, but people are way nicer to me when I dress more femininely,” said El Layla Johnson, 33, a former restaurant server who is now a therapist.
For Johnson, getting dressed for work has been a struggle since adolescence.
“I just feel like there’s a manual or rule book that people receive and that my copy got lost in the mail,” Johnson said.
Johnson recalled regularly crying while getting dressed for work at an upscale restaurant in Seattle. It wasn’t just that they found the restaurant’s dress code to be ugly. Johnson had a hard time finding clothes that fit at all.

Good morning.
Excellent job, Zz!
Good morning. Happy Humph Day!
The second place I took the car offered significantly more than the first place. We’ll try one more place tonight.
We have a wind chill watch in effect for late Thursday through Saturday afternoon. What fun!
And I got a “phew” today.

Thank you. Best wishes on the car.
The youth appear to have a cold in the head. They are whiny. However, they all felt better when I told them that, if they were too sick to get up, they didn’t need to do anything with computers today.
Momcat and beebee! Sweet!
Good morning. I hope you had a good night, with not too many interruptions.
Just as I was preparing for bed, the furnace quit. So I dragged out the space heater, and it’s kept the place at 74°, which is still too cold, but it’s the same temp the furnace kept it at.
I’ll call after 0800 and see about getting someone to repair it. SO many incentives to leave!!
FS just sent a text saying he was going to gas up and head home. He should have clear roads all the way. Another storm is due to hit tonight, but he should be fine as tomorrow will see a high of 40°. Prayers up for him, at least. I’m glad he’s on his way home.
James sent me a text last night, poor kid. He’s hanging in there, but I could tell he’s hurting.
W00t!!
I don’t want someone so mentally ill they don’t know their own gender making my food.
LOL!
And boy! Did you ever! But at least it wasn’t a “Sorry!”- X/6.
My stomach tightened when I saw that, ArGee. Obviously, I feel for ya!
I really feel for James. And for Abbie. So many different kinds of pressures on both of them.
I slept pretty well. No cat, and DP didn’t wake me up, either.
Tom is off to work. James and His Hair just gave me some rent money. My saying I would take his room for myself was Motivating! He still needs more work hours, because paying for auto insurance is next. The parks will have more hours next month when outdoor sports start up again.
Speaking of parks, maybe we’ll go to the park today and look at the flooding again. They have a beaver dam.
Here’s hoping you get the car sold ASAP and that it is for the very best price.
That wind chill watch must be ahead of the storm that’s hitting Zzeeman and me. Hopefully, all you get is the cold, and not the ice.
That’s not a bad point. I think it’s just an act, though. Anyway, people with depression or bipolar disorder can cook.
Yeah, I haven’t heard from Abbie but I’ll text her today and see how she’s doing. She may tell me to bug off.
I’m glad you had a good night!
Does Tom say how he likes the job? Or is it too soon? It’s got to be better than slaving over a hot grill all day!
Sounds like James and his Hair like working, as well! Good deal! Another few years and you and DP will be Empty Nesters. That’s going to be quite an adjustment!
Tom seems to like the job just fine. He’s very impressed with himself, according to his side of conversations with his friends! (Tom has always been a legend in his own mind.)
When he said he “washes dirt for a living,” I yelled, “What living?!” and I heard his friend say, “Gotcha!”
It’s good that Tom is finding humor in the job. That means it’s varied enough to keep his interest, and that’s always good!
(I know several people who have been legends in their own minds. They seem to start at a very young age!)
Not to worry. There are, apparently, a lot of words that start with those letters. I could have looked up to see which of my guesses had already been used, but I decided to just play the game on its own terms. I didn’t even try my 6th try in incognito window.
It’s just a game. I keep telling myself that.
Happy February Oneth, Wordle Players!
Some days are rougher than others, and by the time I realized that I had already used a letter that was eliminated, I was already three lines in. I hate when I do that.
Anyway, here’s today effort!

Yes, it is just a game, but I get so little brain stimulation that the game has become a tool for me.
It seems to be a good gauge in trying to find where I am in the CFIDS process (which pretty much governs my life) so when I begin to use letters that were used and eliminated one line up, I know I have to look at the list of words.
The longer it takes to solve the puzzle, the more gray lint I’m trying to deal with. ;o]
