Sidenote: People who serve “hamentashen” (three corner pastries with fruit filling or poppy seeds) at the Jewish parties around Purim mostly think they are for the three cornered hat Hamen wore, and this celebrates his getting killed before killing more Jews.

Actually, the common practice in those years was to cut off the ears of the condemned, and the pastries were to represent Hamen’s ears.
