I generally agree with your post but DeSantis shows that a solid conservative can pull in the moderates.

I am 100% in support of Desantis. Your point and mine are not mutually exclusive. I believe you can have a truly Conservative President/leader of the party (Desantis) who endorses more moderate candidates for House and Senate races in order to actually win those elections.

With Trump, there are only two choices: total loyalty to him and all of his whims, or you're ostracized. That's no way to run a national political party.
