To my Republican friends: the only proposal you should be considering on Social Security & Medicare is ending mass unskilled migration in order to protect these programs for American Seniors who paid into them and depend on them. Ryanism is on the ash heap—leave it there forever.

Want to cut spending? Slash the corrupt woke bureaucracy, stop paying people not to work, punish fraud, curb military adventurism. Boost revenue? Tariff China. Reduce deficits? Halt migration & ban ALL noncitizen welfare. Improve cities? Get tough on crime. Don’t revive Ryanism.

“That may make “conservatives” feel virtuous, but if the GOP takes their advice, they’ll feel virtuous while living under neverending Democrat rule, because the GOP will never win the White House again”

There is no virtue in bankruptcy and default. Its not political anymore, either. That point is lost when you are scared of being thrown to the wolves.

We are a socialist country, and socialism always dissappoints and always fails. Ask yourself “then what?”

Like I say, you are withPaul Ryan on this, and not with Trump. That’s your right and I applaud you for exercising your right of free speech and free choice.

But just remember that Ryan/aRomney lost whole Trump won.

“ 50% tax on remittances to fund SS.”

Thank you. It’s common sense. Also, tax purchases of US homes/property by foreign residents/entities. Even Canada does this

That’s a good point in regards to many of those pulled up from the direction of the Equator and used to fill skilled jobs like those in the technical trades. They’re more subservient and tolerant about corruption.

Many of those are working with visas or as illegals, by the way.

Medicare is a bit more difficult to pull out of, but unless we want to pass a Constitutional Amendment to allow for it, it’s not something FedGov should be involved in, at all.

############

Um … this is exactly true, FRiends.

Social Security and Medicare do not appear ANYWHERE in the Constitution and therefore should not be Federal obligations. We can add more programs to that list of naughties as well.

I’m sure the flames will begin any second now but … no … sorry. Amendment.

“Like I say, you are withPaul Ryan on this”

Friend, im not making a political statement. I am reviewing a financial statement.

Its not that i want social security/medicare/etc. To be cut, its that it is obvious that they will not be paid out as folks expect because they cannot be paid out.

You cannot rely on wishes or insults or threats to make it otherwise.

You can believe me or not. I dont care, but as the old adage goes :”that which cannot be paid, will not be paid”.

Paul Ryan couldnt care less. I do care

When Biden starts his 2024 reelection campaign by saying that Republicans want to end Social Security, please don’t be among those Freepers who protest that he’s “smearing” the GIP - because you clearly DO want to end Social Security. At least when it comes to Republicans like you (and Ryan and Romney) Biden and the Dems are telling the truth, unfortunately.

I've never claimed he was wrong about that, hasn't been a specific part of any discussions I've been in. (Although to be fair, the GOP doesn't want to end SS, they're perfectly happy with it. It's only the small subsection of Constitutionalists that do.)

But of course Biden/Dems don't tell the whole truth - they claim Repubs want to delete the program, make Granny starve since that was her only paycheck. I don't know anyone who want to just end the program and kick everyone out of it, brick wall, full stop. A pay-out method of ending it is very different. Better term (more explicitly accurate) might be "phasing out" instead of "ending".

Except that doesn't really apply to the government that owns the printing presses.

True. Only an idiot would support Republicans cutting Social Security. ..an idiot or a field worker, for the global plantation.

“Except that doesn’t really apply to the government that owns the printing presses.”

Thats why i try to always phrase things as “paid as expected” meaning that if you are paid the dollar amount as promised, but that amount will not purchase what you expect it would.

Governments with printing presses can absolutely print enough currency and give it to you as promised. But thats not the whole story as everyone will find out.
