Chip Roy warns McCarthy that GOP will ‘enforce’ deal
Washington times ^ | Jan 8 | By Ramsey Touchberry

A House Republican who was one of the nearly two dozen holdouts who demanded concessions in order to vote for Rep. Kevin McCarthy as speaker warned Sunday that he and others plan to hold the California Republican to his word.

“I’m not going to play the ‘what if’ games on how we’re going to use the tools of the House to make sure that we enforce the terms of the agreement,” Rep. Chip Roy of Texas said on CNN’s “State of the Union.” “But we will use the tools of the House to enforce the terms of the agreement.”

Mr. McCarthy was forced to make major concessions, including weakening his own position by allowing any one of his members to call for a vote on his ouster in order to win over Mr. Roy and others in the conservative House Freedom Caucus and clench the speaker’s gavel after 15th speakership ballots held over five days.

Mr. McCarthy made a host of deals — some of which are still not known publicly — with the conservative holdouts in order to gain enough support under his slim majority. That included promises on paring back federal spending and garnering GOP policy victories potentially by using must-pass legislation as leverage, such as government funding and debt limit increase deadlines.

Mr. Roy argued that bitter, intraparty squabbles and holding Mr. McCarthy’s feet to the fire last week was necessary because it forced him to give in to their demands.

Sounds like a "strongly worded letter" has already been worded, with a fill-in-the-blank for whichever specific issue the rebels want to do a Trey Gowdy over.

Fire and brimstone. (Does that cause climate change?????)

Just takes one motion and McCarthy loses the speakership unless he can muster another majority. So he needs to get down to dealing and selling out to get bags of cash to buy everyone off really quick.

I don’t think those 20 do. And I bet that most of the other 200 don’t either, they just know that he’s a whore and that they’ll be able to get what there any from him.

But the simple facts are, too many of these people have been exposed yet most will get re-elected because voters don’t care.

And the fact that all of this had to happen is telling.

McCarthy is going to be a disaster.

The moment he makes a deal with the Pelosi and the democrats, the American people will be pissed and Gaetz and the rest will be proven 100% right.

This has Lucy and Charlie Beown written all over it.

Chip Roy is a former Chief of Staff for Ted Cruz.

He was the “ringleader” and will have no problem being the “enforcer” against McCarthy.

That was the point of restoring the ‘vacate the chair’ rule.

It seems optimistic to think that anybody could be voted out of the Speaker position after what happened this week. We’ll have to see how it turns out.

I can hear it already: (McCarthy) "I'm trying my best, but the Democrats..."

More of the 'We're only one half of one third of the Gov't' nonsense that Boehner used to whine about...

We’ll have to see how it turns out.

My prediction includes three weeks until the first of several Kaka FU situations arise .

Chip Roy, Lauren Boebert, and Matt Gaetz are national heroes.

Unfortunately, the criminal northeast media is portraying them as villains, and buffoons.

I have really, really bad news for you.

The voters DO care.

They just don't care about the things that are important to you.

I have really, really bad news for you Jim Noble.

They don’t care. They continue to re-elect the same tired, corrupt, greedy, hypocritical, self serving, war mongering, spend thrift, aloof, clowns over and over and over and over again. Each time, listening to the same old tired campaign speeches and promises.

The voters are pissed when they find out that their Rep or Senator votes to send Ukraine more money and equipment, while over 2,000,000 have illegally crossed our border, with millions more on the way, but they’ll vote for them again.

Forgot to add....

You and I, obviously, see things differently. Which is fine.

Now that the McCarthy is the SOH, what do you see the Republican’s in the House doing?

Is anyone else concerned that a deal even had, to be threatened to be "enforced", for things such as border security, and other basic Republican issues? Why did they have to have multiple votes, in the first place?

That also goes for the 200+ who unquestioningly kept voting for McC, while whining about the 20, trying to get him to commit to basic Republican issues.

Maybe these (200+) need to be reminded again, (call or letter), that they work for us.

It's problematic enough that we have a vote fraud coup installed, CCP puppet, in DC.

We need a House that clearly understands the above, and knows what America (our Constitution) is about.

Our country is in REAL TROUBLE.

If it is to survive, it can not be "business as usual" EVER AGAIN.

In that we are in 100% agreeement.

And unlike your previous statement, I’m betting that what I wish/would like to be done, is the same as millions of others.

But, I’m pragmatic and a realist and those clowns aren’t going to do anything.

And, sadly, the ones that stood up were labeled as subversives, terrorists, etc and will end up being proven right, I’m betting.

Does anyone trust McCarthy...

Hell to the double NO.

I don’t trust MTG even.

She was just on FOX and asked point blank: “So you believe Joe Biden is the legitimately elected President?”

“Yes, of course he’s the legitimate President. That’s a silly question!”

Trust me, she said it. Expect clips soon.

I don't dispute that. Not at all. There are millions, maybe as many as 5-8 millions, who want what we want.

But there are multiple tens of millions who don't.

You need to re-think that whole voting thing.
