Which proves they don’t have a shred of conservatism in them.
Nothing short of a Convention of States will bring about any meaningful reforms. That will take another generation or two. Embrace the Suck.
“Which proves they don’t have a shred of conservatism in them.”
Sure they do. It’s more of an integrity thing for me. I posted somewhere on this thread about Reagan’s “half loaf is better than no loaf at all” quote. Sometimes you just have to give a bit to get a bit. As long as the Caucus got what they wanted, with the exception of not having McCarthy as speaker, we will live with this, watch McCarthy very carefully and when he strays from the script, hold him accountable.
Seems like Trump was in charge.
Later we will find out or figure out why he backed McCarthy.
Doesn’t prove that. It’s a long fight and it doesn’t require winning every battle. Forcing them to work for it is a good thing but I suppose at some point you have to show movement or they won’t try and work for it. In future negotiations now the McCarthy wing knows that they are gettable so they’re still involved in all of the negotiations. It strengthens your position in the future. At least it can. Also, this gives Trump some leverage win the deep state pricks as he has sway over the never Kevinites. Primary season starts around debt ceiling talks. Will Kevin mess around when The Gaetz card can be played? It doesn’t have to be seen as a total loss. At least there was a fight this time. Good start.
