HIGH NOON, part IV, The Election of The Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives. LIVE!
C-Span ^ | January 6, 2023 | Dr. Franklin

Posted on 01/06/2023 8:55:42 AM PST by Dr. Franklin

By popular request, this is another "High Noon" thread LIVE from D.C. in the heart of the Swamp!

Did McCarthy make a deal to get enough support either from the 20-21 hold out Republicans to become Speaker, or to get the Dems to vote present, or not vote, such that he might become Speaker underhandedly?

Will Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) again nominate President Donald John Trump, the rightful President of the United States, to be Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, such that he might return as POTUS after a successful petition for writ of quo warranto to remove Slow Joe and the Ho?

Do the Dems have a token white Congresscritter to nominate Jeffries to show they are a party of ethnic diversity?

Stay tuned to this Bat Channel!

The Terrible Twenty are heroes to America.

I’m going to start calling the 20

The Marbleheaders

Or

The Indispensables

( hat tip to Patrick K. McDonnell )

By June 1775, the Intolerable Acts, also known as the Coercive Acts, had pushed a port town a little more than 300 miles north of Washington Crossing to the brink.

Rendered unemployed and angry by the strict trade measures imposed by British Parliament, virtually every able-bodied man in Marblehead, Massachusetts, rallied to fight against their common enemy. (Accounts vary significantly as to exactly how many men the group included at its inception.)

The men of the Marblehead Regiment rowed Washington across the Delaware and ‘saved the Continental Army multiple times.’ ·

John Glover’s Regiment of Marbleheaders accomplished an amazing feat on the night of Dec. 25, 1776. They ferried 2,400 men, plus horses and artillery, across the Delaware River in a blinding snowstorm.

Glover’s Regiment had a well-earned reputation for discipline and teamwork.

But not everyone approved of it.

/ sound familiar ? /

So why is it “McCarthy or bust?”

McCarthy is the choice of the elites to be the phony opposition leader who puts on a show of opposition, while using none of the levers of power to accomplish important things, i.e., defunding the USPS until the mail in ballot fraud is stopped.

Rep. Clyburn of SC nominates Jeffries for Speaker of the House again. The Dems still can’t find a white guy to do this, since they lack ethnic diversity.

Another good day. The commies all try to vote for something while the rest of us actually do something. ANd I’m retired. I do more productive stuff in my sleep. They should go home vote via internet, or mail in. Get three votes for each ballot.

The very first DemocRAT nomination speech by James Clyburn had to bring up January 6th, 2021.

I’m surprised the Dems and their donors didn’t completely trash the market in order to spend the weekend howling about how the House not being in session is creating instability.

Clyburn is a dim bulb. The House’s version of Patty Murray, the dunce of the Senate.

That was a pretty good speech by Clyburn. I don’t agree with his politics, but it was a good speech.

You have to wonder how many heterosexual non-Jewish white male Democratic representatives remain in Congress. Steny Hoyer from Maryland is one remaining, and he is 84 years old.

She's Presbyterian

And the first female House chaplain. I imagine Speaker Pelosi would have preferred a Catholic, but there being a serious shortage of females wearing Catholic collars, she settled for a "well-qualified" Presbyterian.

You are the first person I’ve seen sorta link this election to what is going on at Supreme Court today. Has there been ANY word on that front?

“Clyburn is a dim bulb.”

No kidding. BUT, he is the guy who saved Biden in the primaries and eventually resulted him being appointed. Clyburn brought us Biden.

Did Gaetz previously nominate Jordan this week? He nominated DJT yesterday. Gaetz has voted for an array of people this week.

Rep. Matt Gaetz of FL nominates Jim Jordan again.

The problem is, unless he's changed his mind, he didn't want the role. I'd rather put forward a nominee who's willing to serve and would campaign for it, try to sway some people and change minds.

Even Hern, who was being tossed into the ring yesterday, still voted for McCarthy instead of himself. At least Donalds was willing to be Speaker and voted for himself...

Either way, I think this first vote of the day could be interesting to see if a good night's sleep changed anyone's mind.
