>>It’s called selflessness.
It’s not ‘selfless’ at all - a selfless person would work for the change they want to see, even if/when some votes go against them - quitting is a losers way out.
But I guess thats the way you run your life, first sign of adversity - run away.
You a real peice of... work. Being nice...

You are right, this is how you work for change, by denying McCarthy, once he is in power, nothing will change cause nothing can change. You can’t be “working” for change once McCarthy becomes speaker, the work is over. Why smack your head against a wall unless you lust for power. Most go to congress with good intentions and then they are sat down on day one and told how things are going to be. You do as you are told or no committees, pork or reelection help. So what are you to do once the leadership is chosen. Have you ever talked to a congressman or senator who has said otherwise? Maybe you haven’t followed this stuff long enough, you seemed to be well intentioned. So what if the majority goes to 3 or 2 or 1 if nothing is going to change. Boehner boo hooed about only having 1/2 of 1/3 of government and that you can’t keep kicking the can down the road, then spent the next 6 years kicking the can down the road. Oh yeah in small meetings Boehner would MF Pelosi left and right then roll over to her in congress like they all do. The only change that can take place is here and now.
