A New York university professor is drawing heat as “anti-cop” and “blaming the victim” for condemning as murderers two Suffolk County cops who shot dead the knife-wielding man who tried to kill them, leaving them with serious stab wounds.
“This was a wellness check — why didn’t they de-escalate the situation?” Prof. Anna Hayward posted on a Stony Brook Medicine Instagram update on the conditions of the two stabbed officers with its staff and Suffolk County Police Commissioner Rodney Harrison.
“Why did a man have to die? What about the man they murdered?” Hayward brazenly accused, using the handle “hayanna72.”
The Suffolk County officers had responded to a call that the suspect was threatening his roommate with a fire extinguisher, authorities said, on Birchwood Road in Medford on Dec. 28, when one of the men turned a knife on the officers, authorities said.
The man stabbed and seriously injured the two officers, one with life-threatening neck wounds. At least one of the cops pulled out his firearm and fatally shot the suspect in self-defense, police said.
Both officers were taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment. A third officer was also transported for minor injuries.

Government funding of public universities is a kind of welfare program for useless, but reliably woke, low IQ useful idiots.
How about we send this prof. to do welness checks instead since they obviously know better. /sarcasm
She’s a Ph.D. MSW. In other words, a useless but reliably woke, low IQ idiot. In the School of Social Welfare. The name is a parody. My undergraduate degree is from Stony Brook. even back then it was insufferably politically correct.

Exactamente.
When she gets mugged......and law of averages says she eventually will, she better not call the police.

I would enthusiastically sign onto this initiative! Cops obviously have more important things to do than interfere in the discussions (even if they get intense enough to be heard by neighbors) that happen between people sharing the same roof, right?
Fire the stunning ...
Quick, Dr. Hayward, take this call!
Same thing happened many years ago in my town - people called the police on a relative that was clearly having a mental breakdown of some kind. They fully expected the police to magically come in and fix their problem.
They came in, got attacked and responded in kind - dead civilian was result.
Then for the next twenty plus years, if a story about any town police actions showed up in the news, they’d be sure to rehash the whole thing to smear the police - even after all involved had long since left or retired.
Not sure what the moral of the story is - call animal control instead? At least they have some non-lethal options.
I’m no bootlicker, the cops make mistakes, sometimes.
The way to solve clowns like this from opening their pie hole though, is put her on about two weeks of “ride alongs” with patrolmen or whatever they call ‘em now.
This stupid broad would be out of ammo before noon if she were a cop.
I think if I was a Stoney Brook Cop I would be real busy when the next call for ANYTHING came in from the school or it’s alleged students or babysitters (aka professors, teaching assistants, teachers etc;).
I think it would take me at least an hour to show up to any call even if it was across the street.
One room mate threatimg another room mate is not a wellness checkm. It is an investigation of a domestic violence crime.
These little lefty word games seem trivial to some but when we let the left control the language they get to choose the battlefield we have to fight on
When the little prick pointed an airport forearm at me when I was working plain clothes he was pointing a “replica forearm” at me....and no I didn’t shoot him because I was seated in a car and I didn’t have the opportunity....and I didn’t run his ass over because his girlfriend was standing hip to hip with him....
Shit gets real, real fast, in the real world and I made a decision that even some other cops would send guess and that’s fine.
But unless you were there ya don’t know shit.
Anna Hayward.....a professional “Karen”.
Those forearms can be deadly
defending yourself is racist
