It's possible POTUS45 is fearful of a McCarthy-Democrat coalition that would eliminate any (slim) chance of conservative initiatives over the next two years.

Legislative stalemate. Little gets passed.
More Post Offices will get renamed. (Woo hoo, I passed a bill!) LOL
Bright side - More time to investigate matters.
