I stopped by FR on the night of January 6th. There were all kinds of folks talking up what a net benefit it was all going to be and that it was a major step to a Trump restoration.

I have been as guilty as anyone about insulating myself from prevalent opinions that I know are ridiculous. But the stakes are too high now. If this image of the GOP as being held hostage by a bunch of unserious grifting online blowhards is cemented in the minds of voters, the authoritarian reach of the left will have no limits.

I have been an optimist in life until the last decade.(approximately)

While possibly reversible, the country is on a terrible track in almost every avenue.

Economically, spiritually, demographically, etc.

I’m from a family where the men serve in the military.
I served, my brother, father, uncles, etc.
I wouldn’t serve now. It’s a microcosm of the state of our society.
