In a way it’s just spite. Scalise will be the compromise, but he will be very little different than McCarthy. Same thing happened when Boehner was ditched for Ryan; not much difference, but Boehner was humiliated.
Matt Gaetz is right. McCarthy stands for nothing except staying in power. He cannot be the next speaker of the house. We need somebody with a philosophy of governing and somebody who will do what they say. Any of Scalise, Johnson, Biggs, Roy would be way better.
