Don't be daft. DeSantis made that comment before his re-election. He's not stupid. He wasn't going to give Charlie Crist a "Ron DeSantis does not want to be your governor!" campaign ad.
The election is over. DeSantis won in a massive landslide. Everyone in his orbit is telling him to run in '24. He doesn't need to bend the knee to Trump.
