I’m no longer a taxpayer. Our retirement plan was to get completely out of debt, move to a place where the cost of living is low, and live primarily on social security which is pretty high because I was an IT contractor in a tier one market.
In a very real way, I’ve gone Galt. In fact, I named my place Galt’s Knob.
I’ve subscribed to the “starve the beast” strategy.
Absolutely, well done. If more did this they would change their tune.
Cheers and applause! I am looking for such a place, as it no longer bothers me to become an Ex-Pat. Too early for SS, but I’m still looking.
We here on Pecan Hill salute you, as we have done much the same. More adjustments may be needed in the future, however.
Similar for me. However those of us on as limited fixed income are very subject to damage by wild inflation. Groceries and utilities are climbing monthly.
No taxes? You don’t own Galt’s Knob?
(Even renters pay property taxes....for the owner....via their rent.)
Curious where your Xanadu is.
