I read that their software makes it very difficult for crew to update their current location / status. I would design an app for their phones to check in that information.
The system thought crews were in different cities than where they actually were. And that they had flown more than they were able to due to weather conditions.
Yes. I have little doubt that the inadequacy of their software contributed to the cascade of errors, but as stated above there are many contributing factors and it is obvious that their system was incapable of handling the stress like other airlines did.
Shareholders are going to be pissed. This was a real mess and their “brand” took a major hit!
