“Sorry, Russia is a PERMANENT MEMBER of the Security Council and they VETOED the resolution, so it NEVER PASSED...the Security Council NEVER condemned Russia.”

Are you really that dense? There is a big difference between a vote and a veto, as I explained to you in an earlier post. The UNSC voted to condemn Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, but Russia vetoed. I never once said the resolution PASSED into codification, as any veto by a permanent member of the UNSC can veto anything it wants, and keep a measure from passing, and there is no provision under the UN Charter to override a veto. The only thing the veto did was to table the resolution, and keep it from going into effect at that time (theoretically it can be resurrected, but Russia would just veto it again). Russia’s veto did not eliminate the fact that the resolution had overwhelming support, or votes in favor of it (in simple language, votes FOR it). Thus, the UNSC voted FOR the resolution, but Russia (the only NAY vote), exercised its veto power and tabled it.

I guess that I could have read on, so yes. You did say ‘veto’, sorry about that.
