Nobody ever accused Chuck (only England’s second divorced king) of being possessed of uncommonly good sense but you have to question the decision to be crowned Charles III when Parliament beheaded Charles I and Charles II is best known for having fathered at least 14 bastards (12 of which he openly acknowledged) and not a single legitimate heir.
One wonders what made him want his legacy linked to theirs.
What solidarity? Having a woman arrested and sent to jail for silently praying outside a human butcher shop?
That’s a very interesting point, perhaps about human nature of any audience. Sometimes what is ‘correct’ is not always the right choice with no break in that routine of correctness. IOW, leven the drab ritual with a pinch of unpredictable spice or harmeless mystery.
