I am surprised that Cotton has gone over to the dark side.
I'm glad another GOPe mask fell off.
Omnibus undoubtedly far from compliant with Congress's constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers, including Justice Joseph Story clarification of no express constitutional power to justify foreign aid.
"Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States." —Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
“If the tax be not proposed for the common defence, or general welfare, but for other objects, wholly extraneous, (as for instance, for propagating Mahometanism among the Turks, or giving aids and subsidies to a foreign nation, to build palaces for its kings, or erect monuments to its heroes,) it would be wholly indefensible upon constitutional principles [emphases added].” — Justice Joseph Story, Commentaries on the Constitution 2 (1833).
The only surprise on the list. What does the deep state have on him?
The rest on that list, not surprised at all.
Deep State must have something on Cotton.
So, he is just another poseur and disappointment.
My current Congresswoman is Claudia Tenney. Her connection with the NY 22nd District ends as of December 31st. She ran and won a newly created NY district. She has consistently voted to send money to Ukraine. I took the opportunity to call her office today, and told the young man who answered that I was disgusted with her continual support to send money to Ukraine with no accountability on the other end, and that I was glad she would no longer be my Congresswoman, because I never would have voted for her in the next election cycle. Brandon Williams is my new Republican Congressman, and once he’s sworn in, and has a Washington office number to call, he will be hearing from me.
Cotton was never a surprise to those of us from Arkansas. DS gotta DS…….
WWG1WGA!
Glad to see Rubio changed his mind. He’s good on some things but a squish on others. The rest. Piss on them. The usual suspects. Cotton though? WTF?
Ashamed of Inhofe…..
If it's Tom Cotton, I'm not. Did he shove one or more personal agendas into that Bill at the last minute?
“It’s all One Party behind closed doors.”
It’s starting to feel like it’s more out in the open. Most still poo-poo the idea though.
wanna know how senators can vote for a 4000 page bill without reading it?
cuz they just make sure their pork is in there and they are good to go
Not easy to get rid of bad Senators, and the latest opportunity is gone with the wind.
My voting history includes: McConnell, Portman, Romney and Young. That is 4 out of the 18.
All promoted themselves as Conservatives years back when they were running to get elected.
I no longer believe in this charade. We’ve been played and fooled for a very long time. It’s time to face the truth...the deep state is running the show and has been for a very long time. It is made up of Republicans and Democrats. I think Trump snuck in, but they wont let that happen again.
Yes, and what a shameful way for him to exit the Senate. The defense contractors must own the old fool.
Many Republicans are secretly Democrats, no Democrats are secretly Republicans. --Dan Bongino.
My thoughts exactly. So sad.
More likely they voted to line their pockets since they obviously have no other reason to vote on a 4,000 page unread spending bill.
Cotton has started selling out to the Uniparty because he is planning a run for POTUS at some point. He thinks that’s his path to victory. I might have voted for him eventually, but he just guaranteed I’ll never hold my nose for him.
More importantly who writes bills?
