The disaster is intentional.
The Left is working feverishly to make numerous major system crash in the same general time period, most especially the financial sectors, so that our one and only response will be to say that "only big government is big enough to fix this huge mess. We must give them unlimited money, power, control, and authority, and punish anyone who isn't on board." The loss of life or wealth or prestige or human rights are all irrelevant.
Exactly correct analysis. There is no way all of this is not on purpose. It is a raw attempt to force us to totalitarianism. A LOT of people are going to die.
