The head of Ukraine's National Defense and Security Council, Oleksi Danilov, assured Monday that the Chechnya region will only be part of Russia "as long as (Vladimir) Putin is alive" and insisted that "once Putin leaves it will be a free country."
Danilov has pointed out that Putin and the leader of the Chechen region, Ramzan Kadirov, have reached an agreement whereby the Russian president "gives everything." "Money, opportunities, orders, welfare, everything. In return, Chechnya remains part of Russia, but as soon as Putin leaves, it will become a free country," he stressed.
"Whether with Kadyrov or without him, it is definitely going to happen very soon because it is a separate country that has nothing to do with Russia. The situation is different, everyone knows that. It was Putin who gave the order to kill Kadyrov's father," he said, Ukrinform news agency reported.
In this regard, he asserted that "taking into account the laws of this country, there has to be an obligatory response." "Putin is afraid of Kadirov because he is a person who can cause him a lot of problems," he said.

No, the islamist radicals that wanted an islamic republic in Chechnya and were defeated with the help of Russia
Kadryov and his loyalist forces are muslim but not extremist radicals…they refer to the ones fighting for Ukraine ( out of hatred for Russia) as “ shaitans”
But wardlord Kadyrov, who vowed to wage "jihad" on Ukraine, is a cuddly moderate Islamist?
There might be 10-30-40 Chechens fighting in the Ukraine army. Kadyrov’s Chechen army in the Ukraine is 10000 men. Or so he claims. I think they are slackers and goof offs.

They do take prisoners…but not from every unit and not from mercs of some nationalities…and not “shaitans”
They kicked axx in Mariupol ( door to door combat) and are tag teaming with Wagner around Bakhmut. Fighting dug-in islamist radicals in Chechnya ( think ISIS) gained their military experience in urban fighting
The Chechen Special Forces won a world competition in Jordan a few years ago..pretty badass

Kadryov and his fighters are devout muslim but in this war is fighting for Russia. Not for Allah. Feels enormous loyalty after Chechnya coup by radicals was defeated with Russian assistance. Which is why islamist radicals flocked to Ukraine to fight for “ Ukraine” but really, against Russia.

Karyrov’s Muslims were not fighting radical Muslims in Chechnya circa year 2000. Russians of the Russian army were. Then Putin leveled Grozny
There are conflicting reports about the Second Chechen war and the tactics and goals of the “ separatists” ( a rather fatuous term for what others might call terrorists given their history)
But Kadryov and his nationals that defeated the “ separatists” have embraced Russia as an ally since the outcome.
Re Grozny…who rebuilt it? And what does it look like today?

We just have to disagree that all Chechens are the same because of islam, that they are not tough feared fighters, and that the ones fighting with Russia …..are jihadis

Read up on the Chechen wars. It was Russians and the Russian army versus Chechens. These wars were not Chechens versus Chechens
