No one can say that for a certainty. Putin gave the middle finger to 128 countries who condemned the war and worldwide sanctions. Putins mind was made up before the troops ever crossed the border.
I’ve thought that all along too. Trump would have had the two leaders at the bargaining table early on instead of sending vast amounts of capital to one of the most corrupt nations in the world.
He wouldn’t have let Ukraine get screwed over in a deal and their infrastructure would still be intact.

Being this entire fiasco is a giant money making operation for weapons manufacturers, and a ginormous money laundering operation for the politically connected, this is probably one of the main reasons among many that they executed a coup in the first place
