One gets the sense that the American Conservative prefers Russia to win, even if it means the dismemberment of Ukraine and subordination of the remainder to a Russian proxy government. That would put a close Russian ally on NATO’s eastern flank, poised to enforce Putin’s demand for the subordination of Poland and other former Warsaw Pact countries to Russian influence. That is not a recipe for peace but for a direct war between Russia and the US and NATO. It is far better to stop Russia and Putin now.

Putin had no designs on subordinating Poland, Russia doesn’t have the military capability to do any such thing. Russia didn’t even have any objection to Ukraine joining the EU, their ONLY objection was to Ukraine joining NATO and putting NATO military bases on their border. Prior to this war Ukraine was receiving subsidized energy from Russia and collecting $2 billion in transit fees from the pipelines that transverses their country.
But that wasn’t enough for the Ukrainian Oligarchs who were hoping to sell off their holdings to Western multinationals at a huge profit, so Oligarchs like Kolomoyskyi hired up the Nazi Azov scumbags to do his bidding and provoke a war that he hoped to profit from. This war was never in the interests of the Ukrainian people themselves, and most of the Ukrainian people recognized this fact. You are just repeating the ridiculous Western propaganda which has no basis in reality.
