Twitter Elon Musk reached his limit with U.S. House Rep Adam Schiff (D-CA) and publicly scolded the Dem Rep from California today after Adam claimed that “hate speech” was up on Twitter.
Schiff said: “On Elon Musk’s Twitter: Slurs against Black people have tripled. Slurs against women are up 33%. Slurs against Jewish people are up 61%. And slurs against gay men are up 58%.
“These numbers are abysmal – and unacceptable. Today, @RepMarkTakano and I are demanding action.” Adam made the comment early this morning. Musk ignored him for most of the day but set Adam straight in the late afternoon.
Musk said: “False, hate speech impressions are actually down by 1/3 for Twitter now vs prior to acquisition @CommunityNotes.”

This is correct. Anything they disagree with is hate speech.
I was on some other forum and said that DC is enemy territory. To one other poster that was worse than hate speech. It was right wing extremism and wondered why no one has reported me to the FBI. Damn right they have a different idea. Anything other than completely safe speech, except against Christians of course, is hate speech.
I think you got reported to the FBI by that guy.

Schiff’s face and head is a combination of a “happy bird” and a bobble head doll. Is it at all surprising that he isn’t too bright? He’s Jethro Bodine and Miss Hathaway’s love child, and they were made up characters.

Their opinions, however, are infallible, which is why they resent the Pope. He’s competition.
Bad response. It is a defacto acknowledgement by Musk that “hate speech” exists and there is an arbriter of it.
Of course “hate speech” exists. The question is, so what? You either stifle it in one forum, and other forums will sprout up like mushrooms, either formally or just a few guys at a local bar bitching and moaning in a corner (how the Nazi Party started). Or you leave the forum open, so people can respond and argue, and maybe modify their views, or reenforce them, after having them challenged.
The merits of his compliant aside, these people are all morons. There is infinitely more hate speech on Facebook platforms than on Twitter. There is just so much content that they can’t even monitor it. On the other hand Twitter is much smaller and more targeted, and all these tools use Twitter and read Twitter, so they pay closer attention to it. I am sure Mark Zuckerberg is extremely pleased to have Elon Musk’s platform be the target instead of his own platforms.
Schiff lies all the time.
The Left’s power resides in you being guilty of something. If you’re not guilty of something, what power do they have? Hence “man made global warming”. Here Musk, not guilty of anything actually the good guy truly speaks truth to depraved power.
I give that an 8 on the honking hoot scale.
Impressions measures the number of times a tweet is viewed. So a lot of hateful tweets by people with few followers doesn’t make a big impression.
