Oswald was a sharpshooter at 200 yards with an open sight. The third shot was about 70 yards with a scope.
Has nothing to do with Oswald being a good shot. The “magic bullet” refers to the theory that the bullet that went through Kennedy’s neck was the same one that hit Connolly and nearly killed him. It would have had to dramatically change direction - Connolly was not close to being in a straight line trajectory of the bullet.
Of course Oswald still had to be able to hit Kennedy in the neck for that bizarre sequence to have occurred.
I’m not a very good shot, and even I can hit a man sized target at 90 yards with ease. That’s an easy shot for anyone familiar with shooting a rifle with a scope.
... and I remember when they forensically examined the scope mounted on the Carcano rifle, one of the findings was it was very loosely attached.
