I’ve owned an EV (Ford Mach e) for a year and a half.
In below freezing temperatures my range goes down by 1/3 or more. The heated seats are really hot and heat up fast, but using the heater isn’t going to decrease my range anywhere near as much as the cold temperature.
Don’t use an EV for anything other than a commuter vehicle, and don’t buy one if you can’t charge it at home.
As a matter of fact, if you can only afford ONE vehicle it most likely should NOT be an EV.
With that in mind I’m not sure how big the market will be for electric trucks. Towing distance is a joke. Maybe for the guy who only uses it for Home Depot & Lowes runs...and who lives within 50 miles within where he needs to go.
