Once they get beyond the niche market, no rational person who really needs a pickup truck for their livelihood will ever buy one of these EVs. Ford will never make a profitable return on the huge capital investment it foolishly made in electric vehicles. Neither will GM. Both will go bankrupt and become government entities. That is exactly what the Left wanted. Owning a reliable vehicle gives people too much freedom and autonomy.

None of those logical, rational reasons has ANYTHING to do with the rollout of EVs.

First optional, then eventually mandatory, “to save the planet.”

And keep the proles confined to a close radius around their homes. “Good” proles will get a longer leash, “bad” proles (lower ESG score) will get a shorter leash.

Easily controlled by the EV’s “smart” software.

It is hard for me to believe that motor companies would even talk about changing over to electric vehicles with all the inherent problems. It seems to me like cutting your own throat as a business practice. I should think that almost anyone(especially if they live in a climate with cold winters)would recognize the problems these things present & avoid them like the plague. I guess I was assuming the heaters the article talked about was battery heaters, as a battery normally works better at a moderate temp, but even the cab heaters use battery power, so you can’t win either way in the winter.Rechargeable battery power is a great idea in many instances, but not for normal vehicles & not for winter use.
