The GOP Treasurer was no threat to the corrupt power structure in Washington DC. If you will look at all the races going back a couple of decades, you start to notice that the candidates that look like threats to the corrupt DC power structure always lose.
The media lie machine is the attack dog of the corrupt power structure in DC.
