No, I do not mean that at all. I mean that a patient should be able to freely choose from all the available options.
However, I will agree with you in that sometimes a doctor will limit those options due to his own personal prejudices. That does not weaken my argument. Instead it’s an indictment of those doctors.

They should face the same repercussions as the nurse. You could argue the nurse was informed and made the best call under the circumstances. You could argue the doctors were paid.
