Should it be Trump or DeSantis in 2024?

Should it be Trump or DeSantis in 2024?  The answer lies in these four words: Form Always Follows Function.  For example, if you’re shopping for a new vehicle, you must consider where the vehicle will typically be driven and for what purpose.  If you would buy a new rifle, you must consider what you plan to shoot with it.  The form must be matched to serve the function.

A classy Corvette wouldn’t be a good choice in the northern mountains.  Given the likelihood of blizzards and rocky back roads, a four-wheel-drive pickup will suit you better. Sure, they aren’t as classy looking and don’t get good mileage, but they are many times over more likely to get you where you need to go.

In a story about elephant hunting, the hunter reported that the tracks he followed were two feet wide.  Think of a large tree, two feet in diameter, thumping down every elephant step! That trusty deer rifle wouldn’t do if you’re planning to hunt elephants.  Elephant-hunting merits the biggest caliber you can find.  Sure, that ammunition is very expensive, and your shoulder will remember the kick.  But an elephant at 30 feet dictates a powerful gun.  Form always follows function.

Apply those two examples to managing a functional society.  What do we mean by a functioning society?  Instinctively, we know what that implies for us.  It works smoothly and allows every individual citizen to pursue his happiness.  These values are expressed in our Declaration of Independence (the sacredness of individual lives and the liberty that allows everyone to fulfill their potential), and the Bill of Rights in the Constitution (matching the laws of nature and of nature’s creator).  A functional society rests on the individual family unit, which is the cornerstone and model of society.  Individuals contribute responsibly what they

I like’em both but I think DeSantis, if he decides to run would have a better chance in the general election then Trump, because DeSantis has not been subjected to the media barrage, politically driven lawsuits, fake investigations, etc for the past 6 years. At least, not yet...

Form makes or breaks function -- our functional society. We can’t remain asleep at the switch, hide behind entertainment, or play chess. This is the real world, folks. The apartment where we all live is burning down. We need the form that matches our functional society now. Edward Mike is a clinical psychologist with a background in theology. Form follows function... this one's worth reading...

Agreed. I know too many people who just won’t do it a third time.

Realistically if Desantis runs I suspects he wins the primaries anyway-suspect there are a lot of others who would support Trump but given a choice in the primary are going to try another path.

Trump is running in '24. Desantis will get crushed if he tries to go against Trump.

I predict that you will be voting for Trump in Nov. ‘24.

Get used to the idea.

Where else are you going to go?

“Ron Desantis 2024 if we want to win back the white house.”

A lie repeated does not make it true. As long as weak kneed, spineless Republicans do nothing, the presidency is lost forever.

By the way, Trump got over a million more votes than DeSantis did in his supposedly remarkable 20% win over the Dems. You take away the cheating and Trump wins by millions and millions.

Trump won by over 10,000,000 over any Presidential Candidate in history. The only person he could not beat was a demented, basement dwelling, fool who insulted blacks throughout the campaign (Slaughtered Obama’s totals in his prime). Biden out-blacked Obama.

I figure DJT tweeting demeaning things about DeSantis was giving him room to distance himself. It was a contrived favor. With that said, whomever wins the R primary I will most likely vote for.

We elect the President through the electoral college, not by the popular vote. Brandon won both the electoral college and the popular vote

Trump lost

Trump lost 5 states from 2016
PA
WI
AZ
GA
MI

Sitting around saying “ThE DeMOcRAts sTole tHe EleCtion” isn’t going to fix any problems and gave us our 2022 defeat in the senate. A stupid man with brain damage won the senate race against a doctor. And yet we sit around and go “sToleN EleCtiION” like a brain damaged senator.

Where was our GOTV? Why did we in 2020 tell our voters that early voting was bad and their vote won’t count? That was dumb. We tell people absentee/mail in ballots won’t count either so we try at funnel all of our voters in on election day. This is stupid, dumb, retarded but to everyone on here, this is the proper way of voting. We don’t take advantage of the same system the Democrats use and than we accuse them of cheating because they beat us.

This is like if the NFL changed the rules where sacking the opposing teams quarter back would get you 4 points. But our team doesn’t like the rule change and states we would never sack the opposing team’s quarter back because we want to win football games with field goals, touch downs and safetys as God intended.

Our team makes it to the super bowl and stuck with the original rules and never sacks the opposing team’s quarterback. However the opposing teach sacked our 3 times and we just happen to lose the super bowl by 12 points. Our team and fans go out and say the opposing team cheated by following the rules that we refused to take advantage of. Everyone outside our hard core fan base and players think we are crazy super bowl deniers.

We are not taking advantage of the rules and complain and accuse the other side of cheating for doing what we should have been doing.

Sure we might not like ballot harvesting, early voting or mail in ballot or absentee ballots, but we need to play on all fronts or lose. We can’t win by losing. We have to play to win, take advantage of all voting methods that are legal in each state and move forward.

My Dad lives in Pennsylvania and he refused to early vote because he was told in 2020 by Trump that his vote won’t count so vote on election day. So that is what he does. So on election day he goes vote, one hour wait, people would wait in line then leave the long line, what a crap show. But somehow this is the only legitimate way to vote for republicans since all other ways are corrupt right? He could have went to the county seat and voted a week or two before the election and spend maybe a total of 10 minutes instead of waiting in line for an hour. That would have been more convenient, not just for him, but for other people waiting in line on election day.

I voted with early voting a week before the election in NJ, got in, got out, no lines, fairly easy process and my republican congress critter won with 20 points as usual in a deep red county in New Jersey.

Just think if in Arizona if we banked 70% of our vote before election day, election day snafus would be less damaging to us and we would be looking at governor Lake and Senator Masters right now. But complaining and crying “sToLen ElecTions” is easier then winning.

Mid term elections vs presidential election cycles are different, less people vote in mid terms.

The fact that DeSantis did so well in Florida is remarkable.

Of course De Santis is running. Trump will not get the nomination in my opinion. Dems would prefer that Trump did get the nod.

I’m not sure that Dems prefer Trump. They are trying their hardest to make sure he does not get the nod

https://thehill.com/homenews/house/3738289-house-democrat-eyes-legislation-to-bar-trump-from-office-under-14th-amendment/

Looking back at the 2020 totals, Biden won the electoral college by the skin of his teeth.

If we flip Pennsylvania (Biden won by 1.1%), then we would only need 2 of the following three:
Arizona (Biden won by 0.3%)
Georgia (Biden won by 0.23%)
Wisconsin (Biden won by 0.6%)

Those are razor-thin margins.

Right on schedule…..Trump/DeSantis, Trump/Fuentes, Trump/(insert nonsense here)

The DeSantis Dreamers now want a politician…..because only a politician can appeal to the Karens. The very same Karens that are fine with economic failure, open borders and censorship.

These same DeSantis Dreamers also backed McCain, Romney, Bush, McCarthy, McConnell, so on and so forth because winning matters……..no it doesn’t.

Would be nice to have more conversations about why DC republicans have not changed one bit since 2016. We have the same RINOs, leadership and democrat compliance. Would be nice if FR posted numerous articles targeting every one of these snakes instead of Trump hysteria.

The problem ISN’T Trump, the problem is every other republican in DC. A problem that neither DeSantis or Trump can fix. Presidents have less power than a governor.

Despite this post, the nonsense will continue on FR. Here’s to 5000 more ‘polling’, ‘DeSantis vs Trump’ and ‘Trump might have farted publicly’ articles which will change absolutely nothing except engage the freepers with zero insight.

I joined FR for the insight and intelligent articles……now it’s a joke. 15 articles per subject, reposting identical articles, lack of substance in articles. It seems those posting the articles now have an agenda.

Example: The Fuentes scandal. Every person with an opinion on the subject is quoted in separate articles thus each article is shared despite the ‘opinion’ always being the same. And it continues for days.

They’re pushing this as they’re terrified of President Trump and hoping to reduce the time the right holds the Whitehouse.

Trump for 2024... maybe push for 2028 as well (since dems tell us nothing is in stone). When Trump is done THEN DeSantis can take over for 1-3 terms

There’s no good reason to have them go ahead to head. Especially since DeSantis is so much younger.

Of course this also means their cheating needs to end

Trump is damaged. He can ride no farther. He should fade back for a few weeks then announce he’s no longer a candidate.

“Mid term elections vs presidential election cycles are different, less people vote in mid terms.”

I understand this, but if DeSantis did so great, greatest ever, he should have come within a million votes of Trump totals?

In 2018 gov race (DeSantis weakest turnout) and Trump 2016 race there was around 500,000 vote total difference. The next election for both, Trump beat DeSantis (largest vote total) by over a million.

Again 16,000,000 more votes the second time around. Yeah, that is damaged in TDS Republicans. I am sure Romey is lined up for your vote.

The better question might be: “Will it be the ballot box or the ammo box in 2024?”
