That's almost all they care about - taking money from people who earn it and giving it to themselves or other deadbeats.
Socialism is really just shifting the oligarchy to people who couldn’t earn it within the current capitalist/merit system.
It just winds up spreading misery more equally because the tragedy of the commons is a universal truth, and systems that do not recognize excellence and reward personal risk and merit are universal failures, and third, communism via socialism will never work because the socialist leaders will never give up their perks and power.
