Exactly right. MacArthur is a true hero. He tamed Japan, and could have done the same with North Korea and China. Idiot Truman unwisely destroyed MacArthur.
Stalin would not have allowed China to fall. Like it or not the nationalists were discredited with the Chinese public. The Chinese public would have seen US direct intervention in China as western bullying, more of the same from the West for the previous 3-4 hundred years. Mao and Stalin would have spun it that way and it would have been believed.
Anyway MacArthur warned against any ground forces commitment on the Asian mainland! We seemed to have forgotten that advice in regard to Vietnam.
