That place was a sweatshop with fluorescent lighting. Management had absolutely no regard for employees and it showed in an annual 44% turnover rate. 67% percent if you singled out the professional turnover.
I pretty much figured out my HR position there was worthless early on. Along with a group of other managers, we formed what we called the UBANGI tribe: United Brotherhood Against Nut-Grabbing Idiots. Focused on malicious compliance and practical jokes.
About 6 years later, the company made a midnight move out of state, notifying employees of the plant’s closure by email and voicemail.
