lets look at this from govt point of view..with excess deaths, what happens to tax base..does govt collect more or less taxes...any thoughts?
my seat of pants instinct says govt gets more...
forgot to add..higher death rate of older sicklier people would mean less expenses after a short surge for medicare etc...expenses pensions of retired govt employees pensions, health benefits , SS etc reduced
