In the last few days, the mainland China daily Covid case count has climbed to around or more than 28,000 — near levels seen in April during a stringent lockdown in Shanghai, according to CNBC calculations of Wind Information data.
“China might have already passed the point of no return, as it’s unlikely to achieve zero Covid again without another Shanghai-style hard lockdown,” Macquarie’s Chief China Economist Larry Hu said in a report Tuesday.
In GDP terms, nearly 20% of China’s economy was negatively affected by Covid controls as of Monday, close to the high of 21.2% recorded in mid-April during Shanghai’s lockdown, Nomura’s Chief China Economist Ting Lu said, citing the firm’s model.

This implies that China had achieved "zero Covid" at least once before.
Question. What good is achieving "zero Covid" if it means nothing... If it can break out yet again?

It’s an f’n bad cold to most people. It’s not as if China cares all of the sudden…
I wonder if any of them take vitamins, and use supplements like zinc or do they just eat their rice (carb) diets every day like good little communists?

If we tried to stop the spread of the common cold, what would happen? The strain would remain for a much longer period if time.

It honestly wouldn’t surprise me if China lost 5 million of its citizens to covid.
Locking people indoors so they don’t get sunshine and fresh air is an excellent way to increase stress levels on the human body and make people more susceptible to disease.
A lot of innocent people dying in China. But that’s what communist regimes do to their citizens.

Too bad their lockdowns have also only added to the situation.
Most countries have had a death rate of about 0.2% to 0.35% of their populations. The US is towards the high end.
If China relaxes controls and uses vaccines and therapeutics to stay at the bottom end, that would be 2.8 million deaths.
They have vaccines, but the uptake has been low. They need to relax controls, allow more sickness and deaths, and that will increase vaccination rates.
