I don’t agree in the least with your statement that Trump is AWFUL at picking people to work for him.
Trump didn’t get where he is by being AWFUL at choosing personnel.
The bad hires were a result of the confirmation process which gave him a severely constrained talent pool to draw from. That is China Mitch’s fault.
Others who didn’t have to be confirmed, like that guttersnipe Manigault, succumbed to the lure of the swamp.
the last couple years of his presidency, Trump nearly exclusively appointed people without confirmation to “temporarily” fill a position until someone could be confirmed permanently.
And his choices didn’t seem to get any better with him in 100% control. Nearly every one who has ever worked for him has stabbed him in the back eventually.
