The Russians no longer have that capability. How'd their last winter offensive work out in February and March?
Russia makes lots of weapons.
Not as good as American, but it buys by factory output and not by Congressionally set dribs and drabs.
Looks like tanks stuck in mud.
Russian tanks move better over solidly frozen ground.
In winter Russian tanks have more freedom of movement.
Careful! That’s what the Nazis said

Last time they tried with only 300,000 troops, thinking that they could win with a lot of bluster on the cheap. Now they know better. They have a lot more than 300,000 troops…and they cannot afford to lose. This is a war of survival for the Russian nation. Watch some of Peter Zeihan’s videos to see why Russia invaded.

General Mud took a harsh toll on Russia, aided by Xi when he asked Putin to delay the invasion until the end of the Olympics.
In winter the ground will be frozen.
My 2 cents is that Russia will target Ukrainian energy infrastructure during the winter hoping to freeze the population.
