In a move that shocked Hollywood, Bob Iger, one of the most notable CEOs in the history of the Walt Disney company, is returning to run the media empire.
Bob Chapek, who replaced Iger in 2020 as CEO, is stepping down immediately.
"We thank Bob Chapek for his service to Disney over his long career, including navigating the company through the unprecedented challenges of the pandemic," Susan Arnold, Chairman of the Board for Disney, said in a statement on Sunday night. "The Board has concluded that as Disney embarks on an increasingly complex period of industry transformation, Bob Iger is uniquely situated to lead the Company through this pivotal period."
Disney said Sunday that Iger has agreed to serve as CEO for two years with "a mandate from the Board to set the strategic direction for renewed growth and to work closely with the Board in developing a successor to lead the Company at the completion of his term."

Not shocking at all if you know what’s going on at Disney under Chapek.
Bringing back Iger isn’t a great move either. Some of the disaster decisions under Chapek were previously put in motion before he was CEO.
The guy who put them in motion? Bob Iger.
The perversion and wokeness will continue without missing a beat.

Once an institution has been corrupted, it is very difficult for any leader to bring it back to the point it is “good” again. Once trust is lost, it is not easily regained. Some people will never trust again and permanently behave accordingly for the rest of their lives.
Our culture and society is now in free fall because so many institutions have lost the trust of people. Religion, government at all levels, academia, business, the media, sports, civic organizations, political parties, many law enforcement agencies, the medical establishment, many fields of science, and leadership of the military have been corrupted and have lost the trust of the people.

Either Chapek caved to the wokeness or became woke himself.
Iger can only fix Disney if the company, and the wokesters, give him a pass when he moves Disney in a more profitable and less progressive decision.
Iger is the guy who started all the woke BS, it's a step in the wrong direction if anything. It's like bringing in Bernie Sanders to fix all the destruction Biden leftism has caused.
Personally I hope Disney goes the way of FTX.
Something really fishy happened with Disney during the lockdowns. Everyone of their properties was hit by the lockdowns, and yet their stock was actually going up.
Something was keeping the corpse alive, but that something seems to have died.
