Establishment House Republicans Oppose Impeaching Joe Biden

Establishment House Republicans signaled Thursday they oppose impeaching President Joe Biden after reclaiming the majority.

While conservative members of the House filed nine articles of impeachment against Biden since 2021, many establishment Republicans, now with more power in the majority, believe impeaching Biden is not a good idea.

“We shouldn’t even be talking about that, Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) told Politico. Fitzpatrick recently won his election by about ten points over his Democrat challenger.

“There’s so many problems we’ve got to deal with on the policy front … I don’t like the fact that that’s even being discussed,” Fitzpatrick whined.

Rep. Don Bacon (R-NE), who won his reelection by about three points, said impeaching Joe Biden, like Democrats impeached former President Donald Trump for a “perfect phone call,” is not appealing to independents.

“I want to warn our colleagues: There may be some activists in our party that want impeachment. But I can tell you that the swing voters and the independent voters don’t. …We change leadership by elections, impeachment is the outlier,” Bacon said.

Rep. Tom Cole (R-OK) echoed the establishment House members’ opposition. Cole won his district by about 30 points. “The failure to win the Senate hurts a lot, and I think, to be honest, the margin does make a difference. A lot of the people that put us in the majority are from relatively moderate seats. I would hate to put them in that position unless there was an overwhelming reason to” impeach, Cole said.

In the past two years, nine articles of impeachment of been filed against Biden. Reasons for impeachment range from selling oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to foreign nations, the open southern border, pandemic overreach, and the deadly withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Impeachment in the House without the possibility of CONVICTION in the Senate is political masturbation.

It feels good and produces nothing.

Go ahead, call me names, tell me who I support or what my political ideology is....

Revenge on a chalk board is non-value added, and doesn't garner one more vote.

I am against impeaching Biden for two reasons. It gives us President Harris and two, because it may give us a charismatic vice president who could take the nomination in 2024. It may be that we end up with that situation anyway as either Biden will become so infirm it can’t be hidden at all and Democrats demand his removal, or he drinks from the wrong cup and falls over dead shortly after a meeting with Hillary Clinton. But we need to hope that happens so late in his presidency that the new charismatic vice president doesn’t have much time to make an impression.

I’ve never heard a far-left, commie RAT say that they “oppose” impeaching a Republican. The left-wingers work in packs.

Agreed/ Reprimand him by sternly worded letter. Then begin to
right the wrongs done to WTP. SloJo will get his in the end.
Face the facts. True impeachment is highly unlikely, articles of impeachment does not necessarily remove him from office (which is what is needed).

I don't know how effective impeachment would be.Of course it's justified but it might not help our cause much.OTOH,I'd love to see the GOP start chanting “25th Amendment” in early ‘24. Hold hearings. Get medical experts from top medical schools to testify.

Exactly. Reality would be so much easier to recognize for those folks paying minimum attention if we all just referred to the two parties of the two party system:

Patriots and Unipartiots.

Patrions and Unipartions.

Without a smoking gun, impeachment would be a waste of time. He would never be voted out by the Senate.

Move on to something useful.

Absolutely true. But I think the process should move forward anyway, for no other reason than it would expose secrets that need to be exposed.

As a side note, I was against the impeachment of Bill Clinton. Yes, he was a scoundrel and a liar. But his bad behavior was not a threat to the Republic. Biden is in a whole other category.

“”the Senate would never remove him. It would be wasted effort.””

AGREE 100%!! It might make a few of them feel good to go through the motions but why bother when the outcome would be evident?

Look, “impeaching Joe Biden” is an idiotic and meaningless gesture.

Name 18 Democrat Senators that would vote to convict and remove Biden and Harris from office.

To remove both bidAn/CommieLa/nanzi at the same time takes a mere 5 votes. Just need the right 5 folks to vote. We'll know if this is a possibility within 3 days from now:

Beware of what you wish for.

Think biden is bad?

Kamala? Really, Kamala.

Let that sink in. KAMALA.

Again.... K A M A L A.

There are a more than enough democrat misdeeds in need of investigation and prosecution.

No need to waste time on this.

One of the rare times I agree with the RINOs.

Why bother? Payback! The Dems impeached Trump twice over nothing. The House should indict Biden no matter the prospects in the Senate.

So impeaching Trump on frivolous charges rallied the Democrat base. Imagine hoe satisfying it would be to Republican base to see Biden impeached for influence peddling and being a red Chinese communist puppet?

Regardless of all the comments for and against impeachment, in a civil society there must be penalties for criminal behavior.

I suspect many of those quoted in this story will change their minds when all of the facts of the FTX scandal are known.

Whereas it might be wise to ignore a night at the club at tax payer expense, FTX, rigged elections, world wide fraudulent lock downs and compulsory medical treatment, Chinese graft, Ukrainian graft, corruption in major government agencies (FBI, DOJ, courts) can not be ignored or overlooked because it might offend some unidentified voter.

The country is slowly bleeding to death. It is time to choose between surgery and death.
