Twitter’s new owner, Elon Musk, announced on Saturday night that he would reinstate the account of former US President Donald Trump, a day after running a poll on his Twitter account, asking users whether he should do so.
“The people have spoken. Trump will be reinstated,” he wrote.
Musk originally posted the poll on Friday night, and later added, “Vox Populi, Vox Dei,” a Latin phrase meaning “the voice of the people is the voice of God.”
When the 24-hour poll closed on Saturday night, 51.8% of respondents had voted in favor of reinstating Trump and 48.2% said they did not think Trump’s account should be restored.

Shouldn’t it frighten us that almost half of the poll respondents are willing to stop people they don’t like from speaking in the public square? Congrats to Must for listening to the people, but t’would have been better had he not done so based on the poll, but on the basis of the fact that freedom of speech is a basic human right.

Trump can be so aggravting, but he is policy wise, the only one to date that is really populist, Conservative MAGA. He should have a voice on Twitter. Get ready!

Nowhere did Trump say--nor did anyone else suggest--that he would have to choose between Twitter and TruthSocial.
In fact, judicious use of links in his posts to Twitter could feed traffic to TruthSocial.
I've been picking at Uncle Fester and some other hardcore Lefties and have been getting positive feedback from other Twitter users.

My thoughts exactly. You got to publicize on every outlet. On the other hand, he has to continue to build Truth Social, in case Mort Zuckerberg or some other low-life buys out Musk and reimposes censorship. There must be competition. Big business is not the problem. Monopolies and trusts are the problem.
Of course it’s frightening. We are in frightening times, and as in the 1930s, Martians from outer space might cause a panic on a radio drama, but the real monsters are human beings.
Musk misrepresented the quote. The full quote is from a letter from Alcuin to the Emperor Charlemagne urging him to resist such ideas, “Nec audiendi qui solent dicere, Vox populi, vox Dei, quum tumultuositas vulgi semper insaniae proxima sit.” Which translates as “And do not listen to those who keep saying, ‘The voice of the people is the voice of God’, because the tumult of the crowd is always close to madness. Not quite what Musk wanted to say.
I like to tell them “ Mother Nature is a Pure Capitalist” We must emulate Her ..

You could go on to say that reality itself is capitalist in that everything has a price tag attached...and you pay it whether you want to admit it or not.
I have some people in my family who hate "business" as an activity because they believe it is based on "greed." I tell them that everything is a business and everyone is a businessman...even charities, churches, physicians, caretakers, and social workers.
There is an income statement (of a sort) even for non-profit organizations. If such organization doesn't raise enough money to function, it fails. And if it isn't functioning successfully, it will have trouble raising needed funding over time.
