"In this case, I think the victims had to have been drugged and drugged by a person they invited into the house."

Seems reasonable and plausible.

Wanna bet if Chobani was somehow involved?

Okay, I don’t have any confidence that these small town cops are equipped to deal with this situation anymore. “Nobody panic”... 1 day later.... “Maybe we should panic”.

Come on, invite the State Police in to help or something guys.

Big city cops or state police will NOT tell the public to get armed and stay armed.

A small town cop might.

When I read something like this I am reminded of how Richard Speck, using a knife, murdered eight student nurses back in 1966.

Thanks. I had not read that. I hope they catch that bastard quickly and he gets swift and final justice. Idaho is a good Law & Order state.

I doubt if Chobani is involved. Chobani is dairy and is in the southern part of the state in Twin Falls. Moscow is Palouse country, wheat farming. It’s a 7.5 hour drive from Twin to Moscow. I doubt you find any of the Chobani crowd in Moscow.

“Just another reason to carry.”

Yes. It’s a crying shame none of those kids had a pistol.

murdered eight student nurses back in 1966.

And lived to steal oxygen for another 35 years.

Yes, I completely forgot about Speck. Good analogy.

You can bet lots of parents of students at U of I are now arming their kids and getting them training. There are going to be lots of pistols, ammo, and training gift certificates under the Christmas tree.

Do you really need to tell people in Idaho that?

It gives me the chills, like the Keddie Cabin Murders in 1981. Three children in a room next to the main room where four people were brutally murdered supposedly slept through it (that’s now contested).

Neighbors supposedly heard muffled screaming at 1:15am but went back to sleep. That case will send one down the rabbit hole.

I’m full of sorrow for the murdered kids and their families. But the two other kids in the other bedroom that survived this are going to have real difficult lives. The nightmares will haunt them to their dying days. They and their families need our prayers to find the strength to get through this.

Moscow police chief James Fry admitted that the killer could still be at large..

Could still be at large? Could??!

The stupidity (leftist doctrine) is strong in this one.

Good luck with Chief "Barney Fife" Fry solving this 'alleged' crime.

Absolutely - they probably won’t be able to stay there, and survivor’s guilt is a real thing. It is even worse if they thought something was off and went back to their room, not ever imagining this particular outcome. I feel for them, and I hope they get the help they need to work through their trauma.

"It’s a crying shame none of those kids had a pistol."

I think about that all of the time when watching movies or TV, about how short the episode or movie would be if the victim were armed. In real-life, too - a weapon is not a guarantee that one would survive an attack, but it evens the odds at the beginning until the upper hand can be gained.

Just think how different the story would be, say, of the Manson Family had any of the victims been able to counter-attack.

Killer may be on the street - or maybe he's in our jail already. We got a lot of 'em. Let me check our inventory!

Maybe not leftist doctrine...just a small town police chief blurting out the simple truth. He's probably a bit over his head in this because Moscow is a peaceful town with mainly property crime. He sure could have done a lot of things better like having an immediate press conference and not blurting out that "could."

CrimeGrade.org ranks it:

Crime GradeRating
Violent Crime Grade A
Property Crime Grade B
Other Crime Grade C-
Murder Crime Grade A+

The A+ grade means the rate of murder is much lower than the average US city. Moscow is in the 96th percentile for safety, meaning 4% of cities are safer and 96% of cities are more dangerous. The rate of murder in Moscow is 0.01 per 1,000 residents during a standard year.
