He didn't have the support before he announced in 2015 either. But, he won the necessary support to get him elected in 2016, and actually, in 2020. He'll do it again for the 2024 election. He absolutely can't be counted out. He still has the support of most of his original voters.

What did he have to deliver? Once he mentions support for a candidate, he doesn't have to hold their hands and campaign for them; it's up to them to win over the voters, and perhaps many of them just weren't worth Trump's support.

We can’t wish Trump POTUS again. It’s going to take votes of a lot of people who are not hardcore MAGA and do not want this noise from Trump.
