Virginia GOP Gov. Glenn Youngkin on Friday brushed off former President Trump's criticism of him – which followed his lieutenant governor, Winsome Sears, saying Trump should remove himself from GOP electoral politics.
"Listen, you all know me," Youngkin told reporters. "I do not call people names. I really work hard to bring people together … . That's not the way I roll and not the way I behave."
The governor's response followed Trump's criticism of him earlier Friday morning.
"Young Kin (now that's an interesting take. Sounds Chinese, doesn't it?) in Virginia couldn't have won without me," Trump posted on Truth Social. "I Endorsed him, did a very big Trump Rally for him telephonically, got MAGA to Vote for him - or he couldn't have come close to winning."
Trump also wrote: "But he knows that, and admits it. Besides, having a hard time with the Dems in Virginia - But he'll get it done!"
Sears suggested that Trump leave GOP politics following the midterm election results, in which the GOP under-performed, with much of the criticism aimed at Trump and the quality of candidates he endorsed.

You’re never going to have a presidential and VP ticket from the same state, especially Florida. Won’t happen.
Yeah, Trump fights. But what he’s doing now is beating himself. He’s not gaining any voters or support with his childish antics.
He’s pushing people away. He’s trying to intimidate who he thinks will be primary contender s, but he’s going to cause those that would normally support him in the primary to wonder whether he’s doing it this time for the country or his ego.
DeSantis and Youngkin are allies, not like the scum who attacked Trump. Private phone calls would have been the smart way to go.
I’m trying to find any article that proves Trump was attacked by any of DeSantis’ or Youngkin’s people. Somehow, I missed all those articles.

You are correct in part. She was separately elected but my sense is that she has hitched her wagon to Youngkin (and establishment GOP who are dangling the Presidency in front of Youngkin—VP for her???) and they are acting as a team. If she hadn’t gotten the OK to spout the Liz Cheney/GOP trash Trump line, she would never said such things unless she is a complete dunderhead.
That is the most anti-trump post I’ve ever seen. Trump would have you vaporized if he ever read that.

Not reporting on a trump insult is very anti-trump. He wants everything he says to be reported on and to be magnified.
You live in a fantasy world. The Lt Gov rejected Trump. Trump attacked the Gov. And did so in a racist way. Because Trump is going after ANYONE who might possibly run against him in the primary.
But Trump is shooting himself. Look at FreeRepublic. Criticism of Trump is almost unheard of here...until this week. He’s bleeding support from people who have argued on his behalf for the last 6-7 years.
Tuesday was NOT a great result and it deeply disturbed me that Trump boasted about HIS great night. Then he started lashing out at good people. If he wants to run again, this is a bad way to do it. Because he WILL need to run again. It won’t be handed to him.
Donald needs to take the high road.
Why don’t you ask the poster who actually posited that question, rather than the one who quoted it.
Virginia has a one-term limit for governor. The lieutenant governor has always been the favorite to succeed the governor when that term expires. I'm certain that her plan is to run for governor when Youngkin's term expires. Plus, as another poster pointed out, it would be highly unusual to have a presidential candidate pick a running mate from the same state.
