Responding to some Twitter users about the midterm elections on Tuesday, new Twitter owner Elon Musk joked that it's "borderline illegal" to support Republicans in San Francisco.
Ahead of the midterms, Musk urged his followers to vote for GOP candidates to "curb the worst excesses" of the Democrats. He stayed fairly quiet on Election Day, however, posting only a few comments in response to Twitter users that seem to add to his relatively recent conservative leanings.
Reacting to a chart showing tech firm donations to political candidates in the 2018 midterms posted by Monitoring Bias, Musk said, "It is borderline illegal to support Republicans in San Francisco!
"Even admitting you know some is pretty bad," he added.

"Followers" doesn't mean they actually follow him politically.
Given what we know about "twitter followers" I'll bet most are NOT Republican voters.
Everybody.
He knows how to expand using Government Subsidies, and leave others holding the bag when the costs come due.
He doesn't need Leftists anymore, so he can irritate 'em for fun, and they can get back at him by cutting off their own noses.
Nobody's getting their money back from Musk.
I think there may be more conservatives in San Francisco than Musk thinks.
The über lefty DA, Chesa Bodin was recalled along with three lefty school board members.
Maybe, but I think Musk is aware.
SF Conservatives keep it secret, unless they like being cancelled, fired, robbed, vandalized, threatened and assaulted.
Musk knows this.
