Well, then if they chose to procreate with destitute men, then they wouldn’t get much help even if the men want to be responsible. Seems like a poor choice in mating partner to me.

Unfortunately, the state cannot force men to marry women, since we made slavery illegal.

Bad choices is the title of this story. But as I said before money isn't the only responsibility. Even poor men can be good husbands and fathers. And the big upside (too rarely mentioned) is that married parents are the most likely to leave poverty. It's probably why Democrats are so intent on promoting abortion and destroying marriage.
